Its chemical name is O,O-diethyl-O-(3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl) phosphorothioate, an organophosphorus insecticide with moderate toxicity. It disrupts normal nerve impulse transmission in pests by inhibiting the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) or cholinesterase (ChE) in their nervous systems, leading to abnormal excitement, convulsions, paralysis, and ultimately death in the pests. This mechanism of action is highly effective against a variety of chewing and piercing-sucking pests. It is suitable for use on multiple crops such as rice, wheat, cotton, fruit trees, vegetables, and tea plants, and can effectively control various pests including rice leaf rollers, rice planthoppers, aphids, and cotton bollworms.
